Group of 8 of us came in for breakfast. We were served really quickly and the food was delicious!
The weather turned on us at Wasdale Water so we headed to The Sawmill to enjoy a dry break. So many others had the same idea as this is a lovely cafe. Well laid out with indoor, undercover and outdoor tables. The Mill waterwheel was working so that was a bit of a talking point as was the glass panels in the floor over the stream. I had a lovely ham sandwich with salad and crisps. Very tasty, good bread, lovely ham and a generous portion. The staff were nice and friendly An easy 5 stars
Really lovely place to go for food. Especially if the weather is good as you can sit outside or on a porch area or indoors. Friendly staff. Great food. Lovely building. Highly recommended
What an amazing farm shop and caffee!!! Very well equipped. We bought lots of gadgets, souvenirs, food etc! Prices for farm food was decent too. Amazing spot for a caffee too! Sitting on a patio by the river with a coffee and cake WOW
Always a favourite of ours in the Lakes. Very friendly staff, dog friendly and great selection of gluten-free options on the menu.
Absolutely excellent after 3 nights out wild camping in the lake district. The building is originally a sawmill with a river running under and around the building, and they still have an water wheel turning. The Herdy mac n cheese with local herdwick lamb and garlic bread was cooked until perfectly crispy and the tiffin cake with a coffee was great. Everything tasted fresh. The atmosphere is bright and the staff are friendly with fast service. Also has vegetarian and vegan options. Would come back again on my next visit to Wasdale.
So pleased we managed to visit here prior to leaving the area. It is absolutely stunning, the photos do not do the setting justice at all! Food excellent, prices excellent and service also excellent. Perfect place to visit pre or post a hike. Looking forward to returning later in the season.
The entire team here (especially Will!) are incredibly passionate about turning incredible quality local ingredients into some of the best food I've ever had. The best thing I had here was the ice cream and the cake made by Luke. Ask Bronwyn which are Luke's cakes for sure, I can't even begin to emphasise enough how good they are, especially the texture which is like nothing I've ever had before. If you order breakfast then you'll get some of the nicest bacon and sausages you can imagine and the smoothies are amazing. It's dog friendly too so you'll see a lot of dogs there!
